Resilience
When Lebanon descended into Civil War between 1975 and 1990, the late Serge Hochar navigated the company throughout the 15 years and became one of the most admired wine producers in the world.
In recent years, the Musar family and team faced many challenges in Lebanon, particularly from mid-September 2024 onwards but fortunately the harvest had already been safely gathered in before the situation escalated. When conflict once again threatened Lebanon and its’ way of life, the team pushed forwards with the same adaptability as their predecessor in the face of such adversity – shipments continued and the work at the winery did not stop.
Despite the challenging geo-political environment in Lebanon, Chateau Musar has been focusing on sustainability and social responsibility issues and the visit planned by BSCI Amfori can now be rearranged for 2025, having been postponed in 2024 for security reasons.
