Our values
The fact that Fells not only represents but is owned by some of the world’s leading wine producing families is reflected in the culture of the business – a culture of honesty, integrity and, above all, fairness that, over the years, has engendered a deep sense of respect from its employees. Many of them have long service records – a testament to the sense of loyalty that exists between the employees of Fells and its shareholders.
Today the company has three recognised values to which we encourage everyone to follow:
Commitment
By Commitment we mean a sustained dedication to a cause, ambition or goal. This includes:
Motivation: Demonstrating personal energy, drive and determination to achieve, overcome obstacles
Adaptability: Adopting an agile approach to work, adapting quickly and effectively to unexpected changes and developments, remaining focused on achieving objectives.
Solution focused: Responding to challenges and problems in a considered way, assessing the situation together with the resources and options, and proposes solutions which will best enable objectives to be achieved.
Respect
Respect: Valuing yourself, one another, the community and the environment, and honouring the feelings and opinions of others, regardless of differences. This includes:
Integrity: Consistently behaving in an honest, fair, moral and ethical manner.
Teamworking: Willing to work cooperatively with others to achieve shared objectives, openly share information, and are inclusive, respecting other team members.
Accountability: Accepting responsibility for own decisions and actions.
.
Excellence
Being outstanding or extremely good at something. This includes:
Initiative: Considering new ways of accomplishing work, and proactively puts forward suggestions and solutions
Innovation: Continually assessing where innovation is applicable and relevant and can contribute to improvements in efficiency
Collaboration: Working with others to achieve shared goals, embracing the breadth of skills and knowledge that others bring.
We also believe in actively participating in the industry of which we are a part. We are a member of the WSTA (Wine and Spirits Trade Association) and we work closely with the WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust).
We also support the Drinks Trust, a charity which supports members of the wine trade who find themselves in difficulty, and the Drink Aware campaign.
