Few wineries can boast the longevity and on-the-ground Burgundy expertise of Louis Latour – and fewer still that have remained in the hands of the same family since their founding.

Originally coopers – a craft they still practice today – they began making wine in 1797 and have continued to do so for twelve generations since. (Eléonore Latour, the 12^th generation, is the first not to be called ‘Louis’).

During that remarkable span, Maison Louis Latour has garnered a reputation for across-the-board excellence in Burgundy and become one of the region’s most instantly recognisable names. They’ve built their Domaine up over the years to the point that it boasts a greater hectarage of Grand Cru vineyard than any other producer, all managed sustainably, working to preserve the ecosystems and biodiversity of their vineyard.

Based in Beaune, in the heart of the Côte d’Or on the famous hill of Corton itself, the winery produces outstanding examples of wine from across the full spectrum of Burgundy appellations, as well as superb Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from further south and benchmark Chablis through Domaine Simonnet-Febvre, which they bought in 2003.
