Wiston during English Wine Week 2024
Wiston Estate, one of the UK’s leading producers of English sparkling wine, are proud to be one of the principal participants of this year’s English Wine Week which runs from Saturday 15th to Sunday 23rd June.
One of the many events that Wiston are participating in starts on Saturday 15th June with the Water Lane Wine Fair. It features the best of English wine from the Southeast, with a focus on family-run, independent wineries that are committed to sustainable practices.
Later in the week on Wednesday 19th June, a vertical Cuvée Masterclass hosted by Kirsty Goring and Head Winemaker Marcus Rayner-Ward is being held to celebrate the launch of their new Library Collection wine. Later that day, Wiston are attending the Fortnum & Mason’s English Wine Showcase, an evening celebrating Fortnum’s favourite English producers. Wiston will be showing their Blanc de Blancs NV and Fortnum & Mason’s Sparkling Cuvée 2016, produced by the estate.
The week culminates with the Borde Hill Garden Festival on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June, where Wiston, who are the official festival partner, are providing a Wiston Fizz Bar, together with a tasting and talk on the story behind Wiston’s sparkling wines hosted by Kirsty Goring.
From Wednesday to Sunday, customers can also visit the Wiston Estate itself, where they can enjoy free cellar door tasting as well as exploring the beautiful grounds and the Chalk Restaurant courtyard to enjoy a relaxing drink. Those wishing to do so in luxury can take the British Pullman train on 24th July to the South Downs for a special tour and tasting.
