Torres are widely recognised as one of the world’s leading premium wine producers with many aspects of their business arguably justifying the title.

Founded in 1870, Familia Torres have a reputation for combining innovation, dynamism and a commitment to quality that has established them as one world’s leading premium wine producers. Today they remain a wholly independent, family-owned company.

The driving force behind the company is 4th generation Miguel A. Torres, who has been described as “one of Spain’s most innovative and influential winemakers”. Over the years, he has been one of the world’s leading spokesmen on the subject of Climate Change and a leading pioneer in efforts to mitigate its effects. Under his leadership Torres established itself as one of the founding members of the IWCA (International Wineries for Climate Action), an organisation whose membership has now grown to over 40 major wineries around the world.

Torres are also recognised for their leadership in the resurrection of “forgotten” ancestral varietals, the use of regenerative agriculture, and their focus on regional diversity – a key factor that helped to differentiate their wines from those of other producers.

Several other wineries from the Fells portfolio also appeared within the Most Admired Wine Brands Top 50 list, including Chateau Musar, E. Guigal, Jackson Family Wines, Royal Tokaji, Symington Family Estates and Yalumba.

The World’s Most Admired Wine Brand is voted for by a hand-picked academy of sommeliers, buyers, wholesalers, Masters of Wine and writers. “Each year our Academy pool grows stronger, and I firmly believe it’s the most authoritative collection of independent wine experts in the trade,” said Drinks International editor Shay Waterworth.
