Historically, the driving force behind the company’s goal of creating greener and more sustainable viticultural practices has been Miguel A. Torres, whose pioneering approach and expertise have made him a world recognised authority. As a leading spokesman on the subject of climate change, he has undertaken numerous interviews with the media in an effort to put this crucial subject higher up the international agenda.
In 2019 Torres, together with Jackson Family Wines, created the IWCA – International wineries for climate action – an organisation aligned with the United Nations-backed ambition of reducing carbon emissions and ultimately achieving net zero.
Launched on World Environment Day 2020, the programme now includes 40 prominent wineries including Symington Family Estates, Constellation Brands and Famille Perrin to name but a few.
