The Library Collection Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut
The Wiston Estate Library Collection is comprised of a series of limited-edition releases from their cellar which celebrate the wines’ ability to age. Since the release of their first Cuvée from the 2008 vintage they have held back small parcels from the best vintages to further mature and develop. This is a series of unique wines which show the ageing potential of English Sparkling Wine. The Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut 2014 is the second release.
When Wiston Estate first disgorged their Blanc de Noirs 2014 back in 2020, the winemaking team decided to treat a small parcel a little differently to the rest. This wine has a much lower dosage than any wines they have made previously. The Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut expresses extraordinary complexity and texture at 2g/l, which is how they came about this special release.
The wine shows the elegant characteristics of English acidity, a savoury edge encouraged by two and a half years on cork, and a wonderful expression of mineral textual notes. Combined with a refined mouthfeel and structure, the complexity of this unique expression is what makes this limited-edition wine so special.
