We’re joined by a triptych of new stellar family wineries

It’s a rare and special enough event when one new winery puts its trust in us and joins the Fells family of world-class producers.

So the opportunity to announce three at once – well, it’s more or less unprecedented.

But that’s exactly what we have today … so we thought we’d better introduce them.

Old friend, new project

The first in our trilogy of newcomers is not only an old friend of ours … but the latest generation at the world’s fourth oldest winery.

Sofia Ricasoli knows a thing or two about Tuscan wine. Her family has been making it since 1141, after all.

So it was with immense excitement that we learned that, in addition to her role with Ricasoli, she had set out on an adventure of her own.

Innesto brings that near-millennium-long Tuscan heritage together with the most modern and creative of thinking. Two stunning wines, absolutely rooted in their place, and which demonstrate the incredible journey that her family has taken, and continues to take Tuscan wine on.

We’re delighted to add Innesto to our portfolio and can’t wait to share the wines with you.

Not one but two South African regional specialists

We’ve been searching for a new South African partner to compliment our wonderful existing brands for some time now.

After extensive visiting, discussing, planning and – most important of all – tasting, two things became clear.

Firstly, that we wanted to work with specialists. Not a one-size-fits-all operation, but wineries that were laser-focussed on their specific region, and the inimitable styles that region produced. Which meant we needed to find not one partner, but two.

Secondly: that Kaapzicht and Paul Clüver were far and away the standout choices.

Stellenbosch specialists and Elgin excellence

Tasting Kaapzicht’s wines we were blown away by the quality of their Stellenbosch specialities.

Pinotage and Chenin Blanc – those inimitable South African styles – delivered with a blend of power, complexity and finesse that elevated them beyond anything else we had found.

Meanwhile Paul Clüver marks our first foray into the coastal Elgin region. There the cooling sea breezes and Humboldt current create conditions perfect for aromatic, pristine, poised Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Paul Clüver’s demonstrated the sort of ethereal grace and structure that would put you in mind of top tier Burgundy … were they not so clearly carrying the stamp of their South African terroir.

Mark our words: these are two producers you absolutely must get to know.

The family grows … the mission remains the same

We’ve been hugely lucky to have been joined in the last year by a veritable pantheon of household-name wineries from around the world.

The Fells family is growing – and we’re delighted to be able to bring such outstanding and diverse wines to our customers.

Despite that, our focus remains rock-solid: premium, family-run wineries delivering quality at all levels.

We don’t want to just work with any wineries – we want to find, and partner with, the best, and bring what they produce to interested wine drinkers like you.

With Innesto, Kaapzicht and Paul Clüver, we can proudly say we continue to do just that.
