100 points for Graham’s 50-Year-Old

Grahams 50-Year-Old Tawny, which was released earlier this year, has been awarded a remarkable 100 points by Richard Mayson in the September issue of The World of Fine Wine.

In his review, Richard Mayson praised the new 50-Year-Old for its ‘Remarkable colour, with its amber red to walnut brown core, characteristic green tinge and amber-tawny rim’.

He added that it was ‘spellbindingly uplifting on the nose, with delicate blossom, dried fruit, and butterscotch aromas, showing off the beautiful piquancy of age’ with a ‘gloriously rich sublime, creamy mouthfeel and freshness …. leading to a graceful finish that seems to go on forever’.

In summary, Mayson describes the 50-Year-Old as ‘a wine that immediately impresses you with its textural richness and focus on the palate, yet it is its overall delicacy, finesse, and perfect poise on the finish that really resonate. There can be only one mark for a wine with this provenance and calibre’.
