Gran Selezione CeniPrimo 2021

A pure Sangiovese capable of celebrating all the magnificent qualities of this varietal, further enhanced by the small size of the vineyard of the same name, which lies on the broad Arbia river valley, in the southernmost part of the property.

Gran Selezione Colledilà  2021

The stony, clay and limestone based soils of the Colledilà vineyard are rich in calcium carbonate and clay, but poor in organic matter. These produce a deep Ruby wine with hints of black cherry, wild raspberries and vanilla. Velvety tannins make this wine long and persistent.

Made from hand-picked grapes from the Roncicone vineyard, this wine is aged for 22 months in 500-litre tonneaux 30% of which are new and 70% second passage. Deep ruby with a palate of fresh, plums and elegant scents of boisé.

Gran Selezione Castello Di Brolio 2021

Castello di Brolio is Ricasoli’s flagship wine created from a meticulous selection of estate-grown grapes from the three most distinctive soils in Brolio: Macigno del Chianti (sandstone), Scaglia Toscana (Galestro), Monte Morello (Alberese).

The 2021 growing season was characterised by a regular winter which was followed by a fresh and rainy spring. Below average temperatures and rain showers in April and May brought a slight delay in the vegetative cycle, but were crucial in overcoming the heat and a lack of water in the following months and thus securing an excellent harvest. Perfect conditions in the autumn also helped. Rainfall in September helped to produce a good contrast between day and night time temperatures, allowing the grapes ripen perfectly, thus bringing the harvest to a successful end with very high quality fruit.
