The Brolio estate has been in the Ricasoli family since 1141. Casalferro is a pure Merlot from the very vineyard located 400 meters above the sea level. The soil has a loamy, clay texture, and is very calcareous and poor in organic matter. The varietal in this plot is remarkable for its unique grace and intensity, which surprises you with its freshness. Impressive flavour: the cherry together with the spices close with a long and persistent finish.
