The Fells Portfolio Tasting returns!
A very straightforward missive this week.
The Fells Portfolio Tasting, our biggest event of the year, returns to the London IET on Tuesday 9th February and you can book your place right here, right now.
Why bother attending?
We know how it is. There are so many events in the world of wine that there comes a point where you have to pick and choose.
However, accepting absurd levels of personal bias, we believe that the Portfolio Tasting stands apart for a number of reasons.
1. It’s the only event of the year when you can taste the whole Fells Portfolio under one roof. We’ll have over 300 bottles open for you to taste, and we don’t think it’s taking immodesty too far to say that there are some serious names in that lineup. Guigal, Louis Latour, Grattamacco, Vasse Felix, Torbreck, Jackson Family Wines, Symington. You get the point. And better still …

2. You’ll be poured the wines by the makers and families behind them. Something that marks our Portfolio Tasting out is the number of producers who fly over specially for this event. Got questions about your favourite wines? There’s no better opportunity to have them answered.

3. One-off, in-depth masterclasses. These are always a highlight of the event. Last year we had a comprehensive tasting of Corton wines from the Latours and a breakdown of the Ancestral Variety project from Torres. This year we’re still hatching plans … but Fells by the Glass readers get first dibs. (Last year they booked out at record pace).

4. A dedicated Fine Wine section. Want to taste the real shock-and-awe bottles in the Fells range? They’ll all be open to try – including rare and old vintages. Last year we had the LaLas, ‘80s Haut-Brion, Tyrrell’s Vat 1, Graham’s 50-Year-Old … and over 60 others of the same calibre. You can be sure we’ll be trying to top that this vintage.

5. The jamón will be back. We gather 300 of the world’s best wines, fine and rare vintages, globally-revered producers, the cream of the UK wine industry’s trade and media, and what does everyone want to talk about after? The fancy ham. Well, fair enough. Rest easy. We know what you want. The ham returns.

Whether you’re a Portfolio Tasting Veteran, or this will be your first edition, we can’t wait to welcome you to the London IET.
You can find the form right here – and be first in line when news of Masterclasses and various other treats drops.
Put your name down today, and we’ll see you on the 9th February for a glass or 300. And, yes, the fancy ham too.
