Chris Blandy to be the next president of the IWSC

Chris Blandy, Seventh Generation family owner of the Madeira Wine Company, has been appointed as the president of the International Wine and Spirits Competition for 2017. 

Allen Gibbons, Group CEO of the IWSC stated “We were absolutely delighted when Chris accepted our offer of Presidency [and] His passion, knowledge and enthusiasm to support global the work of the competition made him the obvious choice”.

The Madeira Wine Company’s performance at the IWSC has been unrivalled in the Madeira trade and speaks volumes about the quality of their wines. Not only have they been named “Portuguese Wine Producer of the year” 4 times, their wines have also been awarded an astounding 3 Trophies, 21 Gold medals and 33 Silver Medals

Previous presidents of the IWSC include - Wolf Blass, Prince Robert of Luxembourg and Baroness Philippine de Rothschild.
